Why I Became A Celebrant

It was my 50 th birthday celebration and I had big plans to celebrate travelling the world, starting with one of my most favourite places on the planet to visit, Hawaii.

I was going to catch up with some friends and record some music and sing in some of the most ancient and sacred places on earth. My plan after the Hawaiian Islands was to then head to Uluru to facilitate a retreat “Awakening Your Spiritual Heart “.

My Calendar and events for the year was fully booked with creative projects, retreats, workshops, travel and clients then…..Covid happened….travel was no longer an option and my whole years work cancelled.

For me that year was still one of the best times of my life even with a big stop sign.

I love going with the flow and have no problem with change (as uncomfortable as it can be at times).

I believe the universes is always shining the light on the way forward and if a roadblock arrives and we don’t know what to do, it’s time for some soul searching which is exactly what I did.

Living in WA we had the whole state to explore, so I decided to hire a campervan and travel the state…haha

I set off for a month which turned into three ….

With my business on hold, out driving in the stunning Australian outback, on the open road the wind in my hair and the sun on my back, I was FREE, I had space to reflect on my life and explore other options in all areas of my life that would fill my soul.

Hence, here I am today an Authorised Marriage Celebrant with the honour of guiding couples and families creating and delivering ceremonies whether that be weddings, Celebrations of Life, Funerals, or baby naming’s and blessings.

It had always been a thought I entertained from time to time, that I would like to become a celebrant however time was always filled doing other things. Here was my opening of time I needed to pursue another passion.

These are the most important and life changing moments in people’s lives and I have the privilege of being a witness and creating a ceremony that reflects your love.

I feel I have the best job in the world, and I am so grateful to be a part of yours.
